PART C: VIVA VOCE EXAMINATION

The content of the examination The candidate should be prepared to discuss with the examiner issues arising directly from the Practical Examination (Part A), and from the Portfolio/Project File (Part B).

The standard of the examination The candidate will be expected to show a level of understanding, commensurate with the role of a good observer and practitioner, of a wide range of issues relating to the worship and musical life of the church and its community, and the candidate’s role within it.

Time and place of the examination The Viva Voce will normally take place between 1 July and 31 August, in the candidate’s own church, or one nominated by the candidate. It will last for about thirty minutes. The Viva Voce is usually combined with the Practical Examination (see Part A).

Entry to the examination Application forms are available from the Examinations Secretary, to whom they must be returned, with the appropriate fee, by 31 January prior to the examination.
